Castile Soap for Beauty and Self Care (+Recipes)


How to Use Castile Soap in your beauty regimen

Castile Soap Truly lives up to it’s “Multi Purpose” title. It’s simplicity and effectiveness has made Castile Soap the versatile go to for anything from washing a car to Brushing your teeth (not straight from the car though). Today you will learn how Castile Soap can be used in your beauty and self care regimen.

If you haven’t yet, I would check out my previous blog on “uses and benefits of Castile Soap”. In it I explain how the pH level of 13Soaps Castile Soap make et an excellent way to purify and detox your skin, leaving you with a lovely glow. So yes Castile Soap is not just for hardcore cleaning jobs but can be used for your gentle sides as well 😊.  


Gentle Face Wash

                Get an 8 oz foaming pump dispenser ( you can get one at then add ¼ cup liquid castile soap, ½ cup distilled water, 1 tsp vegetable glycerin1 tsp jojoba or olive oil and 7 drops of lavender oil (or essential oil of your choice). shake gently and use twice a day!


When you add an abrasive ingredient such as salt or sugar, you’ll get an excellent exfoliation that deeply purifies! Just mix 1 cup of salt (or sugar) in an air tight container, then add 2 tbs rose water, 1 tbsp liquid castile soap and 1/4 cup of coconut oil. Mix well and you have your slightly soapy exfoliation! Use in the shower. (use precaution shower floor may become slippery)


In a wide mouthed container or Mason jar, Soften 6 tbsp of coconut oil, add 4tbsp baking soda, 1.5 Tbsp 13Soaps Castile soap, 30 drops peppermint oil and 1 tsp. stevia powder (optional). Whip ingredients together with a fork and store away for use. (if mixture becomes dry over time add a few drops of water to revitalize)

Shaving Cream

In a small blender, blend ¼ cup liquid castile soap, ¼ cup rose (or distilled) water and 2 tbsp liquid coconut oil you may add 7 drops of tea tree essential oil and mix well. Store in a pump bottle. To use as a shaving aid, pump once on your palm, lather up then apply on the area you want to shave. Then shave away for smooth, soft and moisturized skin!

All natural Feminine Wash

In a foaming dispenser, add ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, ¾ cup of cooled tea (chamomile tea, slippery elm bark tea, or marshmallow root tea, cooled). 2 Tablespoons 13Soaps Baby Mild Castile Soap, 1 teaspoon light oil, such as jojoba, sweet almond, grape seed, or olive oil. 5 drops lavender essential oil.


D.I.Y Face Wipes

Place about 7 soft microfiber cloths (You can get a pack at the dollar store) in a mason jar then soak them by pouring a solution of 1 tbsp liquid castile soap, 1 tbsp jojoba oil, 3/4 cup of distilled water, 1/2 cup witch hazel and 7 drops of lavender oil. Wipe your whole face with a cloth before bed. Wash the used microfiber cloths by tossing them in the washing machine


Nail Cleaner and Cuticle Softener

Make your own cleansing solution for nails and peeling cuticles with liquid castile soap! In a medium sized bowl, add ½ cup of water, 2 tsp olive oil, 1 tsp liquid castile soap and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Stir well to form a frothy mixture then dip your nails into the solution. Soak your nails for about 15 minutes! Discard the used solution then moisturize your cuticle and nails with a few drops of jojoba oil.
